Founded in 1981 by Dwayne Moore, The Moore Agency has been owned and operated by various members of the Moore family ever since, including Dwayne’s wife Jeane Moore, son James Moore, daughter Diana Herron, and now son Daniel Moore.
Daniel is a Certified Public Accountant and also owns and operates the Salem, Ohio accounting firm, D.T. Moore and Company.
The Moore Agency offers personal and business insurance coverages as well as life insurance. Our sister company, D.T. Moore and Associates offers a full suite of accounting, payroll and tax preparation services.

The Moore Agency is an independent insurance agency. We represent a number of the leading insurance companies in the state. We work hard to match our clients with the insurance company that provides the best value, coverage and price.

Meet Our Team
Daniel T Moore, CPA
Owner
Daniel’s family has a long tradition of helping with the insurance needs of the greater Salem community. Daniel’s parents, Dwayne and Jean, founded The Moore Agency in 1981. Daniel has been a licensed insurance agent since 1996 and a practicing accountant since 2001.
Daniel has continued his family’s commitment to the local community through service on a variety of not-for-profit boards, including the Salem Chamber of Commerce, Salem High School Alumni Association, Kent State Salem’s Advisory Board, Columbiana Counseling Center, Mobile Meals, and the Salem Regional Medical Center Foundation.
Daniel received his Bachelor of Business Administration- Accounting Degree, Cum Laude, from Kent State University and his Master of Public Administration from Gannon University, Erie, PA.
Daniel has served on many boards including the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Counsel (IRSAC), the Wage and Investment subgroup of IRSAC. He was appointed to serve as a member of the AICPA Individual Income Tax Technical Resource Panel. He has also served on the IRS executive steering committee for the 1040 modernized efile platform implementation.
Matt Butts
Sales Manager
Joining the Moore Agency in 2020 as sales manager, Matt has served the greater Salem community as an educator, insurance professional and community volunteer. Matt’s interest in insurance began in 2011 when Kent State University at Salem developed an academic program that prepares future leaders in the insurance industry.
Matt enjoys developing insurance solutions for both individuals and businesses. He has shared “how rewarding it is to see the Moore Agency and the insurance companies they represent help protect what matters most to his fellow community members.”
Matt is a proud graduate of South Range Local Schools and holds both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Youngstown State University. He is active in several community organizations including the Rotary Club of Salem and Salem Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. Professionally, Matt is active in the Ohio Insurance Agents Association and actively participates in insurance industry workshops to complement his licenses in Property and Casualty Insurance and Life Insurance. He lives in Canfield, Ohio with his wife, Debbie, and son, Mitchell. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, fishing, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.
Jack Scheets

Jack has been with The Moore Agency since June of 2021. He is excited to obtain his insurance license.
He grew up in Salem, Ohio, and is a proud Salem High School graduate. Jack continued his education at Baldwin Wallace University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in film.
He enjoys working in the insurance industry because of its diversity and how it creates opportunities for entrepreneurs to pursue their goals. He loves interacting with people and helping our clients.
In his free time, Jack likes to work on his photography and videography as well as being involved in the greater Salem community.

Anthony grew up and still resides in Salem, OH. He attended St. Paul’s in Salem and continued his Catholic education by attending St. Charles in Boardman and Cardinal Mooney in Youngstown.
Anthony attended Ohio University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and minor in Marketing.
He joined The Moore Agency part-time to help others and help serve the area. He enjoys serving his community and is an active member of service organizations including Rotary International. Anthony is also a licensed real estate agent and works for Hofmeister Realty & Auction Co.
In his free time, he loves traveling, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
